Why do movies take years to make and TV shows take weeks?

In my latest blog post, I've explored why movies often take years to make, while TV shows can be produced in just weeks. A significant part of this is the difference in scale and complexity between the two. Movies usually have larger budgets, more intricate storylines, and require more time for pre-production, shooting, and post-production. On the other hand, TV shows are typically produced in a more streamlined manner, with shorter scripts and less elaborate set pieces, allowing for a quicker turnaround. Still, both forms of entertainment have their unique challenges and rewards in the creation process.
